Integrating Motibera Bearing-Assist Technology

Motibera's bearing drive creates and controls electromagnetic forces on the rotor.

A specialized stator winding exposes additional terminals for force creation---the original 3-phase terminals continue to be connected to the standard motor drive to make torque, while Motibera's bearing drive connects to new terminals in the winding.

Our proprietary winding approach uses a single installed winding like standard motors and generators, instead of requiring multiple winding sets. The Motibera bearing drive dynamically allocates the winding current towards force and torque at run-time, enabling the highest power density for a given force output.

Working with Motibera

Working with Motibera is as easy as these three steps:

  • 1. Feasibility Study and Consulting

    You provide us information about your existing motor/generator system and we determine the best way to add the bearing-assist capability. Typically, this involves simple modifications to the stator winding, and sometimes only involves re-configuring the connections of individual winding coils in the terminal box.

  • 2. Selection and Delivery of Motibera Bearing Drive

    Once Motibera has determined the best approach to retrofitting your system with our bearing-assist technology, we will provide a compatible Motibera Bearing Drive unit.

  • 3. Commissioning and Bring-Up of Bearing-Assist Capability

    The last step involves on-site commissioning time with Motibera's top engineering staff to help you get the bearing-assist force creation working the best possible for your system. We help you all the way to the end!
